Conditions of Membership
The members of FICTA shall be those Irish Professional Complementary Therapy Associations who support the aims of FICTA and who otherwise fulfil and abide by the following conditions of membership:
- That the professional association be a structured organisation with an enrolled constitution or articles of governance which provides for members participation in policy making, maintains a professional practitioners register and provides them a code of conduct and ethical practice.
- That its membership is not limited solely to graduates of any one provider of it’s therapy.
- That the professional association supports the aims of FICTA.
- That the member association acts at all times in accordance with the Articles of this organisation in it’s structure and policies, as decided from time to time.
- That the professional association pays the membership fees as set from time to time, unless otherwise exempt from doing so by agreement of the committee.
- The membership fee and annual membership renewal fee shall be set from time to time by consensus or by two-thirds majority at the AGM.
- Membership renewal fees are payable within the first two months of the year. Failure to pay the set fee by the due date could result in the termination of membership.
- Membership and membership renewal shall be at the discretion of the committee.
- Associate membership shall be open to professional bodies, education providers and persons who support the aims of FICTA and are willing to contribute by whatever means available to them.
Associate members may attend meetings and the AGM and participate in discussions, but will not have voting privileges.
